I'm curious if this is a decent deal or not? A local dealer has JD4100 HST, 60" JD finish mower, 54" power snow blade & a new 410 loader. The tractor has 300 hours on it and appears in very good condition. It has the medium tread ag tires on it. Is 300 hours too many hours or should I get many years of service from it. I can buy it for $12,000 out the door? any help is appreciated.Oh by the way it is a 2000 model year.
Thanks

Greg,

I can only really comment on how good the 4100 series really is. I picked up a 2001 4100 for a real low price with no hours (6.5). For me to comment on price would be unfair. However the performance of these machines is exceptional. They have a excellent trouble free service record, and it will last a very long time ( if you have kids, they will get old on it!!) I noticed actually the demand for 4100 going up, so i reckon the price will follow. You will not lose money on this machine if you bought it today and sold it in a year or two. The 4110 are the updated version, and they share they same spec's ...there are a number of us on this board who have this machine. Nobodys had a serious problem from what I recall !!

The 54 inch blade goes new for $1k+, not real sure about mower prices but its gotta be $2K (?)

So you are getting a barely broke-in, HST equipped tractor and loader for $9K ? Jump on it!

A well maintained 4100 will go several thousand trouble free hours.

Greg,

since you get it from a dealer, I think they would give you some type of warranty to boot? I forgot to factor in all those attachments...the loader is $2400 itself, and finish mowers are up there as well...deal looks real good now!!
Actually Mark was one of the folks I was thinking of regarding experience with 4100's (and 4115,and Bx's, and many others) He has every attachment ever made or could ever think of !! :)
I really think the demand on these have increased a lot..most sell right away and for real good money...that says a lot about these machines...the link below gives new prices on implements and machines for a reference.
Keep us informed either way....
